Pingtung hosts ‘2026 World in Pingtung’ international cultural festival

The Pingtung County Government launched the ‘2026 World in Pingtung’ festival at Pingtung County Citizens' Park to coincide with the National Day holiday. The three-day event features over 100 stalls representing more than 16 countries, offering international cuisine, specialty goods, and DIY cultural experiences.

County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi opened the event alongside representatives from various international offices, including the American Institute in Taiwan (Kaohsiung), the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, and offices from Thailand and the Philippines. The festival aims to foster international friendships and cultural exchange without the need for travel.

Performances include Brazilian Samba, Thai traditional dance, Italian dance, and Spanish Flamenco. Sister counties from Japan, such as Kagoshima and Ehime, are also participating. The event continues through October 11, featuring daily street performances and concluding with an international cultural creative dance competition.
