Pingtung Sunrise Run to launch 2027 at Jiale Water Scenic Area

The Pingtung Sunrise Run is scheduled to take place on the morning of January 1, 2027, at the Manzhou Jiale Water Scenic Area. Participants will run along the Pacific coast to witness the first sunrise of the new year.

To promote local culture, the event will feature regional food supplies, including dragon fruit juice, onion biscuits, and mushroom dumplings. Post-race breakfast options include traditional items such as dragon fruit rice balls and local sausages.

Registration for the event closes on November 21. Participants can also opt for additional ecological tours in areas like Houwan, Longshui, or Shuaguakou for an extra fee. To encourage low-carbon travel, the county government is providing free shuttle buses and encouraging the use of public transportation.
