Pinheiros basketball team falls to Mogi in Paulista debut

Esporte Clube Pinheiros opened its 2026/27 Campeonato Paulista Divisão Especial de Basquete on 5 August against Mogi Basquete. The squad, composed mainly of Sub‑22 players, featured only one senior reinforcement, forward Murilo Souza. Coached by Vitor Galvani, Pinheiros were out‑scored 68–93. Gabriel Caldeira, the team captain, led the effort with 22 points and seven assists. Injuries kept other new signings such as Felipe Gregate and Edu Santos out of the lineup. Despite the loss, Galvani praised the youngsters’ determination and said the team will continue its development in upcoming fixtures, including games in Bauru, Villaboim and other venues throughout August.
