Pinneberg vehicle arson linked to online sabotage claim
Four official vehicles were destroyed by fire on a customs site in Pinneberg, Schleswig-Holstein, during the night of August 15 to 16, 2026. The damage is estimated at approximately 125,000 euros.
Following the incident, an anonymous confession appeared online claiming responsibility for the arson. The message targeted the Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA), the agency responsible for managing German military properties. The author cited opposition to ‘civil-military cooperation’ and stated that sabotaging the BImA is a means to sabotage the Bundeswehr, NATO maneuvers, and the war. Criminal investigators are currently looking into the cause of the fire and the identity of those responsible.
