Pino Daniele biopic Je So Pazzo released in Italian cinemas

The biographical drama Je So Pazzo, directed by Nicola Prosatore, has launched in 400 Italian theaters. Based on the book by Alessandro Daniele, the film depicts the life of Neapolitan singer-songwriter Pino Daniele, tracing his journey from a difficult childhood in Naples to his musical rise with the group Napoli Centrale.

The narrative focuses on the formative years of the artist, culminating in his landmark 1981 concert at Piazza del Plebiscito. Producers Filippo Valsecchi and Paolo Del Brocco described the film as a coming-of-age story intended to introduce Daniele’s legacy to younger generations.

Massimiliano Caiazzo portrays the lead role. While some critics have praised Caiazzo’s charismatic performance, others have noted challenges in capturing the full complexity of the musician due to rigid dialogue. The film is produced by Tartare Film and Camfilm in collaboration with Rai Cinema, and distributed by 01.
