Pinot Nero becomes most planted variety in Oltrepò Pavese
Pinot Nero has become the most planted grape variety in the Oltrepò Pavese region as of 2026. The region is a major hub for the cultivar, accounting for approximately 70% of Italy's national production.
To celebrate this, the Consorzio Vini Oltrepò Pavese is organizing the sixth edition of 'Oltrepò Terra di Pinot Nero' on September 7 in Voghera. This event will be held alongside the second edition of 'Oltregusto' on September 8, which focuses on wine, catering, and agri-food products.
The program includes a technical masterclass led by Alessandro Masnaghetti regarding recent viticultural mapping and landscape studies. Additionally, 32 wineries will present over 100 labels, including Classese and various Oltrepò Pavese DOCG and DOC wines, at the Istituto Gallini.
