Piombino police find 35 violations during motorcycle crackdown

The Piombino Local Police have concluded the first phase of a specialized crackdown on two-wheeled vehicles. Between August 1 and September 3, officers conducted 112 inspections, resulting in 35 documented traffic violations.

The operation specifically targeted modified mopeds and scooters, focusing on non-compliant exhaust systems that cause noise pollution and safety concerns. To improve accuracy, the police collaborated with an automotive workshop to use specialized technical equipment for verifying exhaust modifications and sound emission levels.

Key violations identified include 11 instances of missing mandatory inspections, nine non-compliant exhaust systems, and four vehicles operating without insurance. Other infractions included improper equipment, missing documentation, license plate irregularities, failure to wear a helmet, and expired driver's licenses. Authorities indicated that these checks will continue in the coming months.
