Pioraco former mayor Mario Angelici dies at 92

Mario Angelici, the former mayor of Pioraco, has passed away at the age of 92. Angelici served as mayor from 1970 to 1975 and was also a prominent educator, serving as a professor and vice principal at the ITIS in San Severino.

Following the 2016 earthquake, Angelici was forced to leave his home in Pioraco due to structural damage and relocated to Fabriano. Current Pioraco Mayor Matteo Cicconi praised Angelici as a historical voice for the community, noting that he remained actively engaged in providing historical and cultural advice for the town until shortly before his death.

His funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the San Vittorino parish church in Pioraco.
