Piotr Beczala performs at Wiener Konzerthaus

Tenor Piotr Beczala delivered a versatile performance at the Wiener Konzerthaus, accompanied by the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien under the direction of Marco Boemi.

The program featured a range of German and Italian operatic works. In the first half, Beczala performed selections from Richard Wagner’s works, including roles from ‘Lohengrin’, ‘Die Walküre’, ‘Rienzi’, and ‘Die Meistersinger’. His performance was noted for its technical precision, seamless legato, and ability to convey deep emotion without excessive pathos.

The second half of the concert transitioned to Italian repertoire, including arias from Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Tosca’, Umberto Giordano’s ‘Andrea Chénier’, and Amilcare Ponchielli’s ‘La Gioconda’. The performance concluded with several encores, including works by Stanislaw Moniuszko.
