Piotr Trochowski transitions from professional football to fine arts
Former professional footballer Piotr Trochowski has launched a career as a painter. The 42-year-old, who played for clubs including FC Bayern Munich and Hamburger SV and represented the German national team, is hosting his first exhibition titled ‘A new Playground’ at the MUMA Gallery in Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Trochowski, whose football career included winning a domestic double and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup, has been painting and drawing since his time as a professional athlete. He has intensified his practice over the last three and a half years, converting his home into a studio. His work spans various styles, including abstraction, impressionism, symbolism, and pop art, often focusing on intuitive ‘dream worlds’ created with acrylic on canvas. His pieces are available for purchase, with prices ranging from 800 to 6,400 euros.
