Piotrków Trybunalski officials consider solutions for recurring flooding

Recurring flooding in the ‘Ryneczek’ area of Piotrków Trybunalski continues to impact local residents and business owners, who often resort to using sandbags to protect buildings during heavy rainfall.

Councilor Dariusz Cecotka has called for a permanent solution to the issue, suggesting a comprehensive hydraulic analysis. Proposed measures include rebuilding the narrow Strawa River crossing on 1 Maja Street, potentially returning to an older bridge design, and constructing a municipal retention reservoir on the Skwer Rawity-Witanowskiego site. Utilizing municipal land for a reservoir could avoid the high costs of purchasing private property while providing water for city greenery.
