Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited reports zero pipeline fractures in two months

Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) has reported zero pipeline fractures across its operational areas over the last two months. The company attributed this success to enhanced collaboration between security agencies, contractors, surveillance personnel, and host communities.

During a Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum in Port Harcourt, Dr. Akpos Mezeh, PINL’s General Manager of Community and Government Relations, emphasized that pipeline protection is a shared responsibility. He urged stakeholders to remain vigilant to prevent future incidents through intelligence sharing and strong community ties.

PINL operates across Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, and Abia states, maintaining relationships with 215 host communities along the Trans Niger Pipeline and Eastern Gas Network corridors. The company noted that its surveillance operations provide livelihoods for over 35,000 youths. Additionally, its scholarship program has distributed more than N2 billion to over 1,500 students, and empowerment initiatives have benefited more than 2,000 women.
