Pipilotti Rist installation ‘Ever is Over All’ at Guggenheim Bilbao

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is hosting the video installation ‘Ever is Over All’ by Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist. The exhibition, curated by Mikel Onandia, runs from October 1, 2026, until January 17, 2027, serving as the conclusion to the museum’s Film & Video programming.

Originally presented at the 1997 Venice Biennale, the work consists of two synchronized video projections. One screen depicts a young woman in a blue dress walking through a street in Zurich, using a large red flower to rhythmically break the windows of parked cars. The second projection provides a visual counterpoint through close-up, saturated images of tropical flowers. The installation is noted for its ability to blend elements of pop culture, music, and visual intensity to explore the boundaries between the intimate and the public.
