Piraeus Bank launches ‘Act One’ for new Greek playwrights

Piraeus Bank has launched ‘Act One’, a new initiative designed to support emerging Greek playwrights. The program invites writers up to the age of 30 to submit original theatrical works between September 15 and November 15, 2026.

The competition focuses on the theme of ‘Today’s City’, exploring authenticity, spontaneity, and freedom within modern Greek urban environments, specifically highlighting the unique dynamics of Athens and other Greek cities. The three best works will receive awards, with the first-place winner being staged on a professional theatrical scene. The initiative aims to provide a platform for a new generation of creators to transform ideas into live theatrical experiences.
