Piraeus expands municipal waste management fleet

The Municipality of Piraeus has expanded its cleanliness services fleet with the acquisition of nine new refuse trucks and ten open-type trucks. The procurement was funded through the municipality's own revenues.

The new fleet includes five satellite refuse trucks, two 12-ton capacity trucks, and two smaller vehicles specifically chosen to navigate narrow streets where larger vehicles face access difficulties. Additionally, the ten open-type trucks are intended to facilitate the rapid collection of bulky items and allow for quicker responses to emergency incidents.

Mayor Giannis Moralis and Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness and Recycling Panagiotis Reppas attended the handover. The municipality stated that the modern equipment aims to increase operational flexibility across all neighborhoods while improving working conditions and safety for sanitation staff.
