Piraeus Port Authority expands scope for international investment
Shareholders of the Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) have approved amendments to the company’s corporate charter with a 99.94% majority. The decision, reached during an Extraordinary General Meeting where shareholders representing 81.78% of the capital were present, allows the company to expand its business activities beyond the Port of Piraeus.
The new framework enables PPA to invest in port infrastructure, logistics, and corporate stakes both in Greece and abroad. The company can now participate in the development, operation, and management of other port facilities, establish subsidiaries, and engage in joint ventures. A significant focus is placed on the supply chain, including warehousing, distribution, and land transportation.
PPA Chairman Han Chao stated that the modernization of the charter is intended to align the company with modern business practices and long-term growth objectives. While the changes allow for broader investment capabilities, management clarified that the provisions do not currently refer to any specific project or investment plan.
