Piramal Pharma to invest $5.3 million in Aurora facility
Piramal Pharma Solutions is investing more than $5.3 million to upgrade the infrastructure at its drug substance facility in Aurora, Canada. This initiative is supported by a $1,753,620 investment from the Ontario government through the Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund.
The project aims to strengthen pharmaceutical manufacturing in Ontario by bolstering the domestic production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). These upgrades are intended to enhance research and development, as well as clinical API production, ensuring the commercial availability of critical drug substances.
The investment is expected to create 12 new jobs and protect 183 existing positions at the facility.
