Piraquara: Man dies after being struck and dragged by vehicle

A man, approximately 40 years old, died on Thursday night after being struck and dragged by a Honda Civic on the Contorno Leste highway in Piraquara, in the Curitiba metropolitan region.

The accident occurred near kilometer 94 during a period of heavy traffic. The driver reported that he did not notice the pedestrian until the collision occurred and was unable to avoid the impact. Emergency responders from the highway concessionaire, Arteris Litoral Sul, arrived at the scene to find the man already deceased. Medical personnel noted that the high-speed impact likely caused severe head trauma.

The victim was not carrying identification documents at the time of the accident.
