Diadema municipal guard killed during attempted robbery

Francisco dos Santos Silva, a 55-year-old municipal guard with 23 years of service, was killed during an attempted robbery in Diadema, São Paulo. The incident occurred on a Wednesday morning in the Eldorado neighborhood.

Security camera footage captured three suspects on two motorcycles pursuing the officer, who was off-duty and riding his own motorcycle. Despite the officer surrendering his vehicle, the assailants shot him in the neck. One suspect was recorded shouting, “Mata ele, irmão! Mata ele!” (Kill him, brother! Kill him!).

The victim was transported to the Diadema Municipal Hospital but did not survive. Police are investigating the motive, which appears to be the theft of the motorcycle and personal belongings. Authorities are also examining a separate robbery that occurred in the same area minutes prior to determine if there is a connection between the criminal groups.
