Piratas FC to host Atlético Morelia in historic home debut
Mexican Liga de Expansión MX side Piratas FC will make its first appearance as a home team on Saturday, 1 August 2026, when it faces Atlético Morelia at the newly reopened Estadio Luis “Pirata” Fuente in Veracruz. The match, scheduled for 19:00 CST, marks the return of professional football to the venue after a six‑year hiatus and will be broadcast free on XEU 98.1 FM and online platforms.
Ahead of the game, the club unveiled its 2026‑27 home, away and third kits, designed by supplier Keuka, during a ceremony that also launched an official Keuka retail store at the stadium. A separate jersey presentation event highlighted the official home jersey, with club president Carlos Vives Gómez receiving the first shirt from Keuka owner Mauricio Bulman. Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García attended both events, underscoring government support for the stadium’s revival.
Piratas FC, coached by Mario García, entered the season with a 0‑0 draw against Jaiba Brava and will look to secure its first league victory in front of a home crowd, while Atlético Morelia seeks to build on its recent 4‑2 win over Atlético La Paz.
