Pirckheimer‑Gymnasium students shine in national math contests

Students from the Pirckheimer‑Gymnasium in Germany took part in several prestigious mathematics competitions, including the international Bolyai team contest, the Pangea individual challenge, and the long‑standing Kangaroo of Mathematics. Over 80 pupils formed 23 teams for the Bolyai event on 14 January, achieving a best overall placement of 16th out of 321 teams from the Bavaria/Thuringia region. In the Pangea individual rounds, six students advanced to later stages, with half reaching the demanding intermediate round. During the Kangaroo competition on 19 March, roughly 150 participants tackled a range of multiple‑choice problems, resulting in eight award‑winning students who earned one first‑place, one second‑place and six third‑place distinctions. The school highlighted the collaborative spirit and creative problem‑solving demonstrated by the pupils throughout the competition season.
