Pirelli launches Scorpion Winter 3 SUV tyres

Pirelli has officially launched the Scorpion Winter 3, the third generation of its winter tyre range specifically engineered for Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs). The development addresses the unique requirements of the SUV segment, which now constitutes more than 50% of the global market, focusing on the challenges posed by higher vehicle weights and higher centers of gravity.

Technical innovations include a redesigned contact patch to optimize pressure peaks, which promotes even wear and consistent mileage. The tyre features a zig-zag central channel and patented ‘Snow Keeper Teeth’ technology to enhance grip on snow. To manage handling, the tread blocks have been stiffened using a Dual-Core Polymer compound.

All sizes available at launch hold an A rating for wet grip on the EU tyre label, with noise levels rated between A and B. Additionally, the Scorpion Winter 3 is available with Pirelli Elect technology to meet the specific performance needs of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
