Pirelli selects C3, C4, and C5 tyres for Italian Grand Prix

Pirelli has announced the tyre allocation for the 2026 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, selecting the three softest compounds from its 2026 range: the C3 (Hard), C4 (Medium), and C5 (Soft).

Due to the high speeds and the characteristics of the new generation of power units, rear tyre management is expected to be a critical factor. While front tyres may face lower braking loads, the rear axle will be under increased demand during acceleration out of corners. Drivers will likely need to manage rear tyre overheating, though degradation is not expected to be severe enough to significantly compromise performance.

Strategic considerations include the potential for a one-stop race, provided temperatures remain manageable. The 5.793-km circuit, known for its long straights and low-downforce requirements, will also see recent track modifications, including rebuilt kerbs at Turns 1, 4, and 8, and the replacement of the Turn 5 gravel area with asphalt run-off.
