Pirelli unveils 2027 calendar featuring India

Pirelli has unveiled its 53rd edition of 'The Cal' calendar in New Delhi, marking the first time the project has been shot entirely in India. The 2027 edition features a collaborative effort between three photographers to capture the country's cultural complexity and transition between tradition and modernity.

The project includes the work of Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø, who focused on portraits of prominent Indian women in Rajasthan, and the legacy of the late Indian master photographer Raghu Rai. Following Rai's passing in April 2026, his daughter Avani Rai completed his vision by integrating his archival photographs with contemporary scenes in the streets of Delhi and Mumbai.

The calendar features a diverse cast of notable figures, including actress Freida Pinto, musician Anoushka Shankar, poet Rupi Kaur, and media personality Padma Lakshmi. The production highlights the interplay of historical memory and contemporary life across various Indian landscapes.
