Pirelli has unveiled the Scorpion All Season SF3, a new all-season tire specifically engineered for SUVs. Building upon the technology of the Cinturato All Season SF3, this new model is designed to meet the unique handling and load-bearing requirements of heavier SUV vehicles.
The tire has received high marks in braking performance tests conducted by the independent inspection agency DEKRA across dry, wet, and snowy conditions. All sizes in the lineup achieved an ‘A’ rating for wet grip under the EU tire labeling system and earned the 3PMSF certification for winter performance. Additionally, the tires achieved ‘B’ ratings for external noise and ‘A’ or ‘B’ ratings for rolling resistance, contributing to fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
Key technical features include a ‘progressive entry geometry’ structure to reduce vibration and noise, and 3D sipes that adapt their shape as the tread wears to maintain grip on snow. Pirelli utilized its AI-based ‘Virtual Compounder’ technology to optimize the chemical compound, ensuring the material maintains stiffness in high temperatures while remaining flexible in cold conditions.
