Pirenópolis church to host mapped projections during Canto da Primavera festival

The facade of the Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário in Pirenópolis will serve as a canvas for mapped projections during the Canto da Primavera 2026 festival. Scheduled for September 11 through 13, the artistic intervention is created by multimedia artist VJ Paulinho Pessoa.

The visual spectacle uses digital technology to portray the 300-year history and cultural identity of the municipality. The projections include references to local traditions such as the Cavalhadas, Pastorinhas, and Verônicas, alongside regional crafts and religious festivities. The natural landscape of the Cerrado, featuring local flora, waterfalls, mountains, and wildlife, is also a central theme.

The event includes a tribute to visual artist Helena Vasconcelos, a prominent figure in Goiás's naïve art movement, by projecting her works. Additionally, children from the 5th edition of Canto da Primavera Kids are integrated into the visual narrative. The festival is a free public event organized by the State of Goiás through Secult, in collaboration with the Federal University of Goiás and the Fundação Rádio e Televisão Educativa.
