Pirineus 27 brand launched for 2027 whitewater world championships

The towns of Sort and La Seu d’Urgell have introduced ‘Pirineus 27’, a unified brand for the three whitewater canoe world championships they will host in 2027. The brand aims to promote the Pyrenees region as a premier international destination for outdoor sports, nature, and tourism.

The event will feature four disciplines across two locations. Sort is scheduled to host the Freestyle and Downhill championships from June 14 to 19, 2027. La Seu d’Urgell will host the Slalom and Canoe Cross championships from September 7 to 12, 2027.

Presented at INEFC Lleida by Catalan Sports Minister Berni Álvarez, the initiative seeks to create a lasting sporting and territorial legacy. Officials emphasized that these championships represent a major sporting milestone for Catalonia, comparable in scale to significant international events like the Tour de France.
