Piripiri police detain adolescent in gang-related homicide investigation

An adolescent has been apprehended in Piripiri after presenting himself to the Civil Police regarding a homicide investigation. The teenager, identified by the initials F. M. T. S., is accused of participating in the death of Ruann Pereira de Sousa, which occurred on August 15 at Residencial Petecas.

According to the Specialized Police Station for Combating Criminal Factions, Homicides, and Drug Trafficking (DFHT), the youth acted alongside another adolescent, F. E. A. G., who was previously detained on August 24. During that earlier operation, police recovered a motorcycle believed to be the vehicle used in the crime, as well as clothing and a balaclava.

Investigations suggest the killing was motivated by disputes between rival criminal factions. The suspect stated that he, his accomplice, and the victim had ties to opposing criminal groups. Authorities are continuing to work on reconstructing the full dynamics of the event to determine if other individuals were involved.
