Piriápolis hosts chocolate festival and expands local services

The coastal city of Piriápolis is hosting the third edition of the ‘Encuentro del Chocolate’ this Sunday, September 20. Organized by the Piriápolis Commercial and Industrial Center with support from the Maldonado Departmental Government and the local municipality, the event features artisanal chocolate and pastry producers, tastings, masterclasses, and musical performances, including a closing set by Matías Valdez.

In related developments, the Cooperativa La Odisea has expanded its services in Piriápolis. After being awarded the contract for park maintenance, the cooperative has incorporated workers from the previous service provider to maintain local expertise. The cooperative also announced it will manage security for the Fiesta del Chocolate scheduled for September 2026 and plans to invest in improving public facilities at Plaza Artigas and Cerro del Toro.
