Pirot City Council approves budget increase to 3.8 billion dinars

The City Council of Pirot has approved a second budget rebalance, increasing the city's budget by 518 million dinars (15.74 percent) to a total of 3.8 billion dinars. The increase is driven by additional revenues from capital and current transfers from the Republic, various ministries, and international donors.

The redistributed funds are allocated toward city obligations, ongoing projects, and specific budgetary requests. Key allocations include 37.5 million dinars for the IPA 'Kale' project, 7 million dinars for the 'Predah' project, and 8 million dinars for sports. Additionally, 10 million dinars are designated for 'Komunalac' subsidies and 7.6 million dinars for childcare in private kindergartens.

To accommodate these needs, certain budget items have been reduced. Most notably, 37 million dinars were diverted from the bus station budget due to construction delays, with 87 million dinars remaining for contractor payments. The current budget reserve has also been increased by 28.5 million dinars, part of which is intended to cover salary shortfalls.
