Pirotècnia Valenciana clinches sixth straight win at Blanes International Fireworks Competition

The Valencia-based fireworks company Pirotècnia Valenciana secured its sixth consecutive victory at the 54th International Fireworks Competition in Blanes, Costa Brava, held from July 23 to 27, 2026. The winning display, timed with the town’s Santa Anna festival, earned 458 points, outscoring Spain’s Pirotècnia Xaraiva (429 points) and China’s Jinli Fireworks (426 points). The company received the Trofeu Vila de Blanes and a €6,000 first‑place prize, while the runner‑up earned €2,000.

The performance featured a novel use of elevating platforms to unfurl a giant flag of Blanes made of fireworks, drawing a long ovation from the crowd. As part of the victory, Pirotècnia Valenciana was invited to participate directly in the 55th edition of the Blanes contest, to produce the closing fireworks show for the 2027 Lloret de Mar festival, and to create a nocturnal mascletà in Blanes, valued at €8,000. Designer Manel Crespo expressed satisfaction with the win, noting the competition’s prestige in the national and European pyrotechnic scene. The jury was chaired by Mayor Jordi Hernández, with councilor Quique Pérez announcing the results.
