PiS bans former TVP chief Jacek Kurski from media appearances after anti‑government criticism

Former TVP president Jacek Kurski was prohibited by the Law and Justice party (PiS) from giving any public media statements after he sharply attacked Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on the TV channel Republika. PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek said the matter had been referred to the party’s Ethics Commission, and PiS vice‑president Mariusz Błaszczak confirmed the ban. Kurski responded with a short video, saying the sanction was a "ban for speaking truth" and that he would return to the issue "when the dust settles."

Former PiS spokesman Adam Hofman later recalled that Kurski had been calculating political moves as early as 48 hours after the 2010 Smolensk air disaster, and that he had previously launched attacks on Morawiecki, intensifying internal party tensions that culminated in the media ban.
