Pisa advances in Coppa Italia after penalty shootout win over Empoli

Pisa advanced in the Coppa Italia after defeating Empoli in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Following the match, coach Paolo Bianco expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, noting that while the players appeared somewhat tense due to a recent relegation, the result was a positive start to the season.

Bianco highlighted the performance of Stefano Moreo for his work in ball management and connection with teammates. The match also provided a tactical breakthrough as Mehdi Leris, playing out of his usual position to cover for the injured Angori, delivered a strong defensive performance including a goal-line clearance and an assist for Marras. This versatility offers Bianco additional tactical options as the team prepares for their upcoming match against Padova.
