Pisa Airport employee assaulted by violent passengers
The RSA FIT CISL union has denounced a recent assault on an employee at Pisa Airport by violent passengers. The incident occurred on Thursday, August 20, during the disembarkation of a flight that had been diverted due to adverse weather conditions.
The union cited chronic shortages of personnel and equipment, obsolete infrastructure, and a lack of emergency management plans by Toscana Aeroporti and handling companies as contributing factors to the high-stress environment. RSA FIT CISL Pisa stated that the situation is “unsustainable and unacceptable,” calling for improved worker safety and concrete interventions from airport management.
