Pisa allocates 97,000 euros for disabled students' transport
The Pisa City Council has approved a resolution to allocate 97,317.60 euros to support families of students with disabilities. The funds are intended to assist families who independently manage the commute between home and school for children attending nursery, primary, or lower secondary schools.
The initiative is entirely funded by state resources aimed at enhancing school assistance and inclusion services. The financial contribution will be provided as a one-time lump sum for the year 2026. Individual amounts will be determined based on the total number of admitted applicants and the available fund, with a maximum cap of 2,000 euros per child.
This measure specifically targets families who do not utilize special school transport services provided by the Municipality of Pisa, the Società della Salute della Zona Pisana, or the Ausl Toscana Nord Ovest. The official call for applications is expected to be published next week.
