Pisa employment projected to grow 4% in September

The province of Pisa is projected to see 3,510 new hires in September 2026, representing a 4% increase compared to the same month last year. This growth marks the highest rate among the provinces in Northwest Tuscany.

The manufacturing sector is the primary driver of this demand, with 880 expected entries and a 14% increase. Specialized workers and plant operators account for 36% of total hires. While personal services are expected to grow by 22%, the tourism (-11%) and primary sectors (-31%) are seeing declines.

Pisa also shows the lowest imbalance between labor supply and demand in the area, with a 43% difficulty rate in filling positions. Regarding contract types, permanent contracts are rising to 23% of total hires, with a notable increase in the construction sector where permanent contracts rose from 11% to 25%.
