Pisa hosts Book Festival featuring Ukraine and charity book sale

Pisa is hosting several cultural and charitable initiatives. The 24th edition of the Pisa Book Festival will take place from October 2 to 4, focusing on independent publishing. This year, Ukraine is the guest country, featuring a program of literature, history, and art. Notable participants include author Andrei Kurkov, who will present ‘La nostra guerra quotidiana’, and an exhibition of Ukrainian illustrators at Palazzo Blu.

Additionally, the ‘Un dono per un libro’ initiative will be held at the Giardino della Limonaia in Pisa. This event allows the public to select books from various contributors, such as the University of Pisa, in exchange for a free donation. All proceeds will benefit the Caritas diocesana di Pisa to support educational poverty relief and provide school materials for children from economically fragile families.
