Calcinaia, Capannoli, and Montopoli launch gender equality survey

The municipalities of Calcinaia, Capannoli, and Montopoli in the Val d'Arno region have launched an online participatory survey to address gender equality and equal opportunities. The initiative is open to all residents aged 14 and older and is designed to collect anonymous opinions, personal experiences, and priority proposals.

The data gathered will be used to inform the 2026 Gender Budgets for these administrations. A Gender Budget is a tool used by public entities to analyze how political and economic decisions—including revenue, expenditures, services, and investments—impact men, women, and other gender identities. The goal is to identify inequalities and direct public resources more equitably in alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda Goal 5.

This project is part of the CROSS (Costruire Relazioni e Orizzonti Senza Stereotipi) initiative, promoted by the Province of Pisa and funded by the Tuscany Region using European resources. While currently involving three municipalities, the project is expected to expand to four additional municipalities in the Province of Pisa next year.
