Pisa officials address red canker affecting Lungarno Buozzi plane trees
Local officials and regional councilor Diego Petrucci conducted an inspection at Lungarno Buozzi in Pisa to assess the impact of red canker on the area's plane trees. The disease is forcing the removal of affected trees.
Petrucci and Pisa's Public Works Councilor, Virginia Mancini, emphasized the historical and cultural importance of these trees, noting they were originally planted by the House of Savoy. Petrucci called for immediate replanting of healthy specimens to ensure the continuity of the city's arboreal heritage and to maintain the landscape's identity.
