Pisa politician criticizes government response to environmental emergency

Maro Biondi, a PD councilor in Pisa, has criticized Undersecretary Patrizio La Pietra regarding an environmental emergency affecting the Coltano estate and the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Regional Park. Biondi claims that the government has failed to provide concrete data on experimental results and has caused delays in necessary authorizations.

Biondi argues that current methods, such as endotherapic injections, are legally restricted and technically unsuitable for large-scale forest areas. Instead, he advocates for the timely introduction of the natural predator Thalassa montezumae to protect the local arboreal heritage. He stated that the matter will be brought to the European Parliament.
