Pisa roadworks delay reopening of Piazza Corelli and close Via Garibaldi for pedestrian overpass

Municipal works on Piazza Corelli in Pisa have resumed after a delay caused by force‑majeure issues. The contractor has begun repairing sections of the road and sidewalk that were due to be finished by May 31, with hopes of completing the square by July and possibly extending into autumn. Remaining tasks include installing new lighting and street furniture supplied by iGuzzini.

Separately, the city has completed resurfacing works on several streets and will close Via Garibaldi on 13 July from 13:00 to 17:00 to install an elevated pedestrian crossing. The project, funded with €129,000, also includes three new over‑passes—two on Via Gioberti and one on Via Garibaldi—along with temporary traffic and parking restrictions to facilitate the works.
