Pisa Sporting Club criticizes Serie B scheduling after player collapse
Pisa Sporting Club has issued a statement regarding defender Rosen Bozhinov, who suffered a convulsive syncope during a match against Juve Stabia. Medical evaluations confirmed the incident was caused by unfavorable climatic conditions following high-intensity physical activity in exceptionally hot and unacceptable weather.
The club criticized the scheduling of the match, labeling it a “grave negligence.” While acknowledging the importance of maximizing visibility for the Serie B championship, Pisa emphasized that the health and safety of professional players must remain the absolute priority.
Following discussions with Lega Serie B, the club was assured that future match scheduling will pay greater attention to club concerns and the necessity of ensuring safe playing conditions. Bozhinov is currently recovering under the support of the club's medical staff.
