Pisa hosts Notte Bianca dello Sport amid European City of Sport candidacy

The city of Pisa hosted the fourth edition of the ‘Notte Bianca dello Sport’ on September 19, 2026. The event featured approximately 100 sports associations and over 100 stands and stations throughout the historic center, including streets, squares, and the Lungarni.

The event coincided with an official visit from a five-member evaluation commission from ACES Europe (the Federation of European Capitals and Cities of Sport). The delegation is currently in Pisa to inspect local sports facilities and associations as part of the city’s formal candidacy to become the ‘European City of Sport 2028’.

Pisa’s administration presented its definitive technical dossier during the visit. Mayor Michele Conti emphasized the city's commitment to investing in sports infrastructure and promoting grassroots accessibility for youth. In addition to the main event, the commission participated in a Miniduathlon held along the Lungarni.
