Pisa to celebrate 80 couples marking golden and diamond wedding anniversaries

The City of Pisa will host a ceremony on Sunday, September 13, at Giardino Scotto to celebrate 80 local couples who have reached their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries. The event, organized by the municipality, will include 160 spouses and over 300 family members.

The program features speeches by Mayor Michele Conti and Councilor Amanuel Sikera, followed by a performance by the amateur theater company ‘I Dicchè’, which will include sketches on preventing scams against the elderly. Musical performances will be provided by the University of Pisa Orchestra and the Vox Humana Ensemble, directed by Massimo Gelichi, featuring works by composers such as Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Wagner.

The celebration will conclude with a cake cutting and toast around 6:30 PM.
