Pisa to host National Congress of Developmental and Educational Psychology

The 38th National Congress of the Section of Developmental and Educational Psychology will take place in Pisa from Tuesday, September 8, to Thursday, September 10. Organized by the University of Pisa and the Italian Psychological Association, in collaboration with the National Council of Psychologists, the event is expected to draw approximately 300 participants.

As the primary annual scientific gathering for the Italian academic community studying development and education throughout the lifespan, the congress focuses on psychological well-being. The discussions will define well-being not merely as the absence of disease, but as the active promotion of conditions necessary for full personal development.

Key topics include emotional and social well-being during childhood and adolescence, quality of life in adulthood, and the impact of illness on psychological balance. The event will also examine the role of schools, universities, and training institutions in creating healthy psychological environments, alongside prevention policies in family and community contexts. Additionally, researchers will explore the link between psychological research, innovation, training, and sustainability.
