Pisan coast painting competition opens for 2026 edition

The Associazione Culturale Dannunziana has opened registrations for the 2026 edition of a painting competition dedicated to the memory of Marco Domenico Verdigi. Supported by the Fondazione Pisa, the event aims to highlight artistic creation inspired by the coastal territory.

The central theme for this edition is ‘Tra fiume e mare. Il litorale pisano, luogo di bellezza ed eroismo’ (Between river and sea. The Pisan coast, a place of beauty and heroism). The competition is open to painters of any artistic orientation and technique. A specific section is reserved for students in the fourth and fifth years of art high schools within the provinces of Pisa, Lucca, and Livorno.

Works must be submitted without signatures or frames, with dimensions between 35x50 cm and 60x80 cm. Submissions are due on Friday, September 25, at the competition secretariat located at Ristorante ‘BUCA 19’ in Tirrenia. The winners will be announced during a ceremony on Saturday, September 26.
