Piscinas Dunes recognized as one of Europe's wonders

The Piscinas Dunes in Sardinia have been recognized by The Telegraph as one of Europe’s wonders. Located on the Costa Verde, this area is noted for its untouched natural beauty and its unique landscape where the sea meets the desert. The dunes, which can reach heights of up to 60 meters, are among the highest in Europe and serve as a natural barrier against storm surges while supporting a fragile ecosystem for species like the Caretta Caretta sea turtle.

The region also features a historical connection to mining, with the nearby area of Ingurtosu serving as a former mining hub within the Geomining Park. The landscape is characterized by abandoned buildings and old machinery that reflect the area's industrial past.

Beyond the dunes, Sardinia offers diverse experiences including catamaran excursions to Asinara to observe marine life and visits to ancient Nuraghe stone structures, which provide insight into the island's prehistoric communities.
