Pishin attack kills five laborers in Balochistan

Five laborers were killed and one person was critically injured during an armed attack in the Pishin district of Balochistan on Monday, August 24. The incident occurred in the Saranan Sulemanzai area, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on workers engaged in a road construction project and a brick kiln.

The attackers reportedly used automatic weapons and targeted both the laborers and heavy machinery at the site before fleeing. Reports indicate that the victims were from Punjab and had traveled to Balochistan for work.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the violence, stating that attacks on development projects and workers would not be permitted to derail provincial progress. Authorities have launched security operations and a formal investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. This incident follows a recent attack on a police station in the Saranan area, which the Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for.
