Pisogne residents use cattle migration to protest camper area project

The seasonal migration of cows from alpine pastures through the Nistoi area in Pisogne has become a symbol for local protesters opposing a new camper parking area project.

The Citizens' Committee for the Safeguarding of Nistoi and various environmentalists are using the imagery of the cattle's passage to advocate for the preservation of the green space overlooking Lake Iseo. They argue that the presence of the animals demonstrates the area's ongoing natural and agricultural utility, rather than being merely vacant land suitable for tourism infrastructure.

The proposed project, documented by the Municipality of Pisogne, involves creating a new area for camper stays and related services. Opponents claim that replacing the natural landscape and agricultural activity with campsites and infrastructure would result in the loss of local environmental heritage.
