Pistoia administration faces criticism over urban decay and market disruptions
Local officials and business representatives in Pistoia are criticizing the municipal administration for mismanagement regarding urban maintenance and market logistics.
Councilor Loredana Tundo has called for a serious political reflection, citing issues of urban decay, neglect of green spaces, and poorly managed public assets. She noted that after nearly five years of administration, the city's image is suffering due to visible deterioration, which she argues negatively impacts tourism and public decorum.
Simultaneously, Michele Coppelli, president of Anva Confesercenti Pistoia, has condemned the administration's handling of the local market. He reported that the scheduled market for September 5 has been effectively canceled due to last-minute notices regarding underground tank repairs. Coppelli accused the administration of failing to coordinate maintenance with the annual Palio festival schedule, causing financial damage to market vendors.
